This Privacy Policy explains how BJ Bindery ("BJ Bindery," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with this website and the "Request a Quote or Production Review" form. It applies to visitors and to anyone who submits a project request through the site.

Information We Collect

When you submit the quote request form, we collect the information you provide, which may include your company name, contact name, email address, phone number, company website, preferred contact method, project specifications (quantity, sizes, stock, page count, finishing and packaging requirements, delivery details), any additional notes, and any files you attach for review.

We also collect a small amount of technical information submitted along with the form: the page URL and referring page, the date and time of submission, and any UTM campaign parameters present in the link you arrived from. This helps us understand which quote requests came from which source.

Like most web servers, the server hosting this site automatically logs standard technical data for every visit (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) for security and operational purposes. This is separate from the form data described above.

Cookies and Local Storage

This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. The only browser storage it uses is a single entry in your browser's local storage that remembers whether you accepted or declined the cookie and privacy notice banner, so we don't ask again on every visit. You can clear this at any time through your browser settings, or by using the "Privacy Preferences" link in the site footer, which will show the banner again.

How We Use Information

• To review, estimate, and respond to your project or quote request.
• To communicate with you about a request you submitted.
• To schedule, produce, and deliver work you engage us to perform.
• To maintain ordinary business records and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
• To monitor and secure the operation of this website.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process the information you submit through the quote request form on the basis of your consent, given by ticking the required Privacy Policy checkbox before submitting the form. Where we are already discussing or performing work with you, we may also rely on the necessity of processing to take steps toward, or perform, a contract with you, or on our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries directed to us.

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the form and respond to your request:

• With BJ Bindery staff who need it to evaluate and respond to your request.
• With our email delivery provider, to send the request and any confirmation emails.
• With Google, through a Google Sheets log used to track incoming requests (see "Third-Party Services" below).
• With professional advisors, service providers, or authorities where required by law, or to protect our legal rights.

Third-Party Services and Embedded Content

This site loads two resources from Google that can transmit your device's IP address to Google when they load: Google Fonts (Libre Caslon Text and Libre Franklin, used for the site's typography) and an embedded Google Map showing our Santa Ana location. Neither is loaded until you accept the cookie and privacy notice banner, or, in the case of the map, until you specifically click "Load Map." If you decline or take no action, the site falls back to your device's system fonts and the map is replaced with a static "Get Directions" link that opens Google Maps in a new tab -- which does not load any embedded content on this page.

Google's handling of this information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Submissions to our Google Sheet log are handled under Google's Workspace/consumer terms as applicable to our account, in addition to this Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We retain quote request submissions, and the associated log entries, for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the request, perform any resulting work, and satisfy our recordkeeping, tax, and legal obligations. We periodically review and remove information we no longer need for these purposes. Contact us if you would like more detail about how long a specific record has been, or will be, retained.

Your Privacy Rights

If the GDPR applies to you (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data; to restrict or object to our processing of it; to receive a copy of it in a portable format; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion or correction of that information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children's Privacy

This site is intended for commercial printers, print brokers, and other business visitors, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction).

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect the information submitted to us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Visitors

BJ Bindery is based in Santa Ana, California, and information submitted through this site is processed and stored in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
